You Are What You Eat And He's A Helper!

Every morning Monkey number one requests a poached egg on toast no butter.
My rule is if you are at the breakfast table before seven you get what you order- After that it's chef's choice, which is usually cereal.
I love poached eggs on pumpernickel with some avocado and lots of pepper.

I love putting pepper on fruit- and this arugula, apple, purple cabbage and feta cheese salad is no exception.
This is a brie, pear, spinach panini- also great with avocado.

I got a huge zucchini at the farmers market and stuffed it with some tofu, left over corn- off the cob, broccoli and parmesan.  After cutting and gutting the zucchini I added salt and olive oil and let it roast on broil for a few minutes then added the stuffing and roasted at 400c for twenty minutes.
We ate it with whole wheat cous cous- mint on the side for those who are offended by green!

And just so you don't think I make my poor monkeys eat healthy food all the time:
Here is a monkey's choice dinner that Monkey Two picked up from Target:

Ahem- Hamburger Helper (with turkey)
Mashed cauliflower and beans ( not monkey choice!)

OH, mmmm, this post is making me so hungry! I love putting pepper on things too, and absolutely love avocados.

Thanks so much for the swap link and heads-up for deadline extension - I just downsized b/c of moving, but will see what fun extras I might be able to swap!

The only thing I can see that is lacking, are raisin eyes and an avocado shaped mouth on the poached egg.

Now seriously-everything looks delicious AND nutritious. I am having poached egg with avacado for breakfast tomorrow. Thank you for the inspiration.

My girls love avacado but I've not ever served it with eggs. I'll have to give it a try.

I USED to make breakfast for my boys. Egg scrambles, pancakes, french toast, but these days the only thing they actually will eat is cereal. Easy, but not much fun!

Oh my, lady, can I come over for breakfast? :) I promise to make it to the table at 6:30! (On the other hand, do one gets to order more food if they come at 6?) lol

You put me to shame. At the moment, it's mostly fish fingers or pasta for dinner. Little L is going through a phase of saying NO (actually, she says NEIN) to everything I offer her. More beans for me then...

your food posts all look delish! i love avocado on anything. any tips for a perfectly poached egg? eggs benedict are my go-to choice when we are out for brunch, but i've never attempted them at home.

Maybe You'll Enjoy These Too...
